The following reading selections consist of books that both inspired me and served as research to write The Legend of the Kid’s Bat, my debut self-published novel.
The books include the basis for the classic Robert Redford film and character Roy Hobbs, biographies on arguably the greatest natural hitter to play the game, a book on baseball told by Ted Williams, a classic early account of the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry and last but certainly not least are a few titles from the wonderful author Matt Christopher, who single handedly hooked me on reading as a kid after checking out one of his titles from the school library in the fifth grade.
These books are a few of my favorites on baseball and all relate to the game and its’ players in a time gone by and nearly forgotten from the game fans know today.
